I remember i was curious about driving but i had no hope that i could buy a car so around 20’s l, i was qualified and pass my exams. Then never dare to drive because it was not necessary.
My world was small, office-house-shopping 15 min to walk. if i need to go somewhere my husband was driving us. But he was using also a company car which i was not allowed to use naturally.
Once i get pregnant and living in the forest in the middle of nowhere in Istanbul, i needed to drive and i started to practice with my neighbor Zeynep. She had amazing patience for me. All my gratitude to her.
My doctor told me, thats ok to practice while practice until 3 month, because the baby is protected in the womb if any harm, accident etc.. So i didn’t have any, but to know this fact, gave me courage.
Then started to drive, First i was holding the wheel so tight. so worry about the baby. Then more i practice more i find the confidence in this chaotic istanbul streets.
Then i never dared to drive in counties which the roads are opposite side, Today i am in this kind of country and i rented a car and started to drive. Driving is freedom.
Yess alll opposite in this country, but “Driving never change” Rules change, culture change, behavior change,
important is to stay conscious and keep driving.
